Valentine’s Day may have become a touch commercialized over the past few centuries, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t a fun excuse to try something new in Kelowna. Whether there’s a restaurant you’ve been dying to try or a quintessential Kelowna experience you’ve yet to embark on, Valentine’s Day may just be the time to turn your date night into something extra-special.
Axe Monkeys – Indoor Axe Throwing in Kelowna
It may seem a bit unusual, but Kelowna’s latest craze is axe throwing! With locations in Las Vegas and Kelowna, Axe Monkeys allows you try your hand at flinging a small hand axe through the air towards a spruce log that’s painted with a big red target. A bit competitive, a lot of fun and definitely memorable, axe throwing for Valentine’s Day is sure to be a hit!
Salsa & Wine at Summerhill Pyramid Winery
Salsa is a passionate dance that’s sure to inspire romance, so when you add in wine and a location like Summerhill Pyramid Winery, your Valentine’s Day date night is complete! Salsa & Wine is a 4-week dance course that starts on February 7th, but drop-ins are accepted so you can also book in for Valentine’s Day only. There will also be specially themed food and drink specials, making the night that much more enjoyable!
Try a Couples Float
With their private, open float pool, Float Space in Kelowna is able to accommodate couples! Because it isn’t enclosed, this space is also great for people who are new to floating and those who are concerned about claustrophobia. Essentially, highly salinated water allows you to experience a minimal-gravity environment that allows for a meditative experience. Who doesn’t need a little more zen in their lives?
Flights and Bites at Cedar Creek Estate Winery
If you choose to celebrate Valentine’s Day a few days early or you are able to celebrate during the day, consider a visit to Cedar Creek Estate Winery for some affordable ‘Flights and Bites’ fun. Pull up a seat in the wine shop and sip on your choice of three wines with a cheese and charcuterie board. Available daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Flights and Bites is a fun twist on the typical Okanagan winery experience.
Test Your Communication Skills in an Escape Room
If you’d prefer a group date and a chance to hang with friends, take a group of six to Exit Kelowna and work your way through the escape room clues and puzzles to beat the Game Master. Just be forewarned that, while the difficulty levels of the rooms vary, it isn’t uncommon to fail the test on your first visit. You’ll have the best time if you don’t take it too seriously.
There’s always something fun and interesting to do in the Central Okanagan, so why not try something new this Valentine’s Day?
