If you’re a Kelowna local, you know how much you love your city, and you know how much your kids love it too. Rutland North is a great neighbourhood in which to raise your kids, and now that they’re ready to start their education, you’re likely pleased with all the schools you have to choose from. Sometimes, however, it can be difficult to get your child to feel enthusiastic about leaving what they’re used to—the comfort of their own home—and going to their first playgroup or preschool. Here are some Rutland North playgroups and preschools that your kids will love so much, they won’t want to leave!
Early Childhood Program: Rutland Boys & Girls Club
Rutland Boys and Girls Club, which is located at Rutland Recreational Park at 355 Hartman Road, is one of the leading children’s extracurricular activity clubs in Kelowna. The club offers programs for students that range from age 3 all the way to age 19. The early childhood education program is a playgroup offered by the club for children from birth to age five. There is also a daycare program that draws on the same values of play, learning, and community for ages three to five. Family playtime is available for younger children (starting right after birth); it is a free event that includes caregivers, moms, and dads. Each of the programs at Rutland Boys and Girls Club are tailored to a specific age group, and will certainly leave your children wanting more.
Strong Start Program at Pearson Road School
A Strong Start Program gives parents an opportunity to bring their children for a play session that involves interaction with other children and learning for both the child and the parent. Strong Start Programs are suitable for young infants to children up to five years of age, and are intended to give children who are not in childcare an opportunity for interaction, fun, and education. The Strong Start Program in Rutland is located at Pearson Road School and takes places Monday to Friday from 8:45 to 11:45 AM. Pearson Road School is located at 700 Pearson Road.
YMCA: Playing to Learn

Two schedules are available, either twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, or three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
