Whisper it quietly but we’re sneaking towards the end of summer. Before long, the kids will be back to school and the leaves will be changing colour, however, before all that, we’ve still got some life left in summer so let’s make the most of it!
When it comes to Kelowna and the Kelowna real estate market, one of the big drivers are our amazing summers, so it’s no surprise that locals and newcomers alike are often attracted to the idea of having a Kelowna home with a pool. If this is still just a dream for you (and for most of us it is), here are three tips to make you feel like you have a pool…
Take your Patio to the Next Level
Have you considered that your favourite thing about the pool may be lounging beside it with a beverage in hand? Take your patio to the next level with some knockout furniture, lighting, a sound system and perhaps a fire pit. This will make your patio a relaxing space where memories can me made, and while the items listed may sound expensive, the price tag will be a lot less than a pool.
Get your Mist On
Perhaps you want to install some misters to your new look patio space too. The misters will help keep you nice and cool in the hot Kelowna summer – just like a pool – and might also give you that ‘holiday feeling.’ Unlike a pool, the misters require no maintenance.
Install an Outdoor Shower and/or Water Feature
This is going to be highly individual, but if you have a private enough lot, you may want to consider installing an outdoor shower. This can be a nice and refreshing way to start your day, and a great way to keep cool as the mercury rises. As a bonus, it will also provide you with a great place to bath Rover. If an outdoor shower isn’t really your jam, consider a water feature as the gentle sound of trickling water is only going to enhance your backyard. Both of these options, have the potential to add value to your home too!
Now, let’s be real here, none of these are really going to make it feel like you have a pool, but they may enable you to enjoy your outdoor space a little more and help you get the most out of the last few weeks of summer, and what’s not to love about that?
And of course, if an inground pool is out of reach, you could always go for an above ground model.
